“LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP” Luke 5:4 - Rev Dr H M Songate

Happy New Year and welcome to our website once again!

Considering the challenges of God’s church around the globe, the waning down of the formerly Christian countries, the lukewarm and shallow epidemic of the church, the huge challenges for missions and outreach, our church selected this theme for the year 2025. You may too, would like to join us in searching the deep truth about this commandment of our Lord Jesus. ‘How do I launch into the deep?’ One may ask. In all situations trust God and give your heart to Him fully. Allow Him to take charge of your life. Stop toiling with your experience and knowledge. You must put God first. Spend time in the Word of God in solitude. Take the time for worship and meditation. Pray, pray, and pray without (doubt) and ceasing.

Simon’s answer to this commandment was a bewildered answer, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, as your word, I will let down the net” Luke 5:5. Many of us would short of stop at the first part of his sentence, not continuing with the ‘nevertheless’! What would this encounter between Simon and Jesus means to us. “God wants to reveal to you things in Him that will cause you to repent; He wants to lead you to unsearchable places that you never thought possible; He desires to flood your spirit with the knowledge of Him until you are submerged in Him. Simply launch out in faith”. (Grace Lubega).

When you launch into the deep, God reveals divine truths that no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no heart has imagined” (1 Cor2:9). God want us to achieve the unachievable through obedience, trust, faith, repentant to willingness to change. “Launching out into the deep” may involve combating weariness, overcoming past failures, dealing with unresolved hurts, and trying to forget some possible bad memories. Now is the time to venture into the deep, to revise your strategy, and commit fully. A change is necessary, and only Jesus can do the impossible. He will make you unstoppable”. We could also be “The unstoppable people.” Amen!
